She also was part of the team that won the 100-meter relay. Jones was the winner of both indoor and outdoor hurdles events at the NCAA Championship in 2003. Jones started her career with the year 2005, after she finished her education. She started training to pursue a track career that would be successful. In 2005 she was winning the Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she took one of the Heusden and Ostrava runners.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town, South Africa. She emigrated from Cape Town to Auckland New Zealand with her family during her late teens. Brandt's talent was discovered in Auckland by local cast director Brandt. She was cast in the part of Naevia for her role on the Starz series Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena.
